What to Expect

»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Greeks are involved in cookouts, campus-wide study breaks, faculty appreciation events, Homecoming dinners, intramural sports, and other on-campus functions - but there is more to Greek Life than social events.

Leadership Opportunities

Each group has many officer positions (president, vice president, treasurer, service, recruitment chair, alumni relations, etc.) or one can join the Interfraternity and Panhellenic councils. Even after graduation, the leadership opportunities continue. For the last several years, »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ students have been chosen from hundreds of applicants across the nation to be chapter consultants for their inter/national Greek organizations. These »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Greek alums travel to chapters across the nation, assisting them in activities associated with their Greek membership.

Scholarship Potential

In addition to the Greek chapters at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ, two additional Greek honorary societies, Order of Omega, and Gamma Sigma Alpha recognizes outstanding scholarship, leadership, and character. 

Contacts for the Future

All of our Greek organizations are inter/national, which means that everywhere you go, you’ll meet members of your fraternity or sorority from chapters at other colleges. This can make for immediate connections, which often result in job opportunities and internships.

How Do I Join?

Membership recruitment is an exciting and busy week when students can join one of the fraternities or sororities at »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ. Our Greek community is special because we give you lots of time to get to know the fraternity and sorority members before you decide to join. We call this “deferred recruitment.â€�

Deferred Recruitment

Instead of having to make a decision the first week of school, interested »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ students participate in recruitment the first week of spring term. The whole idea of deferred recruitment is to allow the students to make personal connections with members of each group, gaining a more thorough idea of Greek membership and the individual chapters. This allows you the opportunity to make the most informed decision about sorority and fraternity membership.

Everybody in Everything

At »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ, we like to include everybody in everything. Being Greek doesn’t mean you have to give up your old friends. Likewise, staying unaffiliated doesn’t stop you from having friends within the Greek community. You can be involved in »Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ’s social life without being in a fraternity or sorority.
